Dublin, April 24, 2018 – KYNE, a specialty health communications agency, today announced the company is a lead investor in Medit, a medical education platform that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI). The investment reflects KYNE’s continued focus on enhancing digital services, analytics tools and media capabilities. As part of the agreement, Julie O’Donnell, co-founder of Medit, will lead KYNE’s digital strategy and oversee expanding digital resources as the company’s new global head of digital, across all offices. Dublin-based O’Donnell brings more than a decade of experience in health-focused digital and marketing strategy, which includes senior roles with Publicis D and pharmaceutical company Lundbeck.

“I have had the great pleasure to work with Julie over the past year and her talent as a global leader in digital and social media is second to none,” said David Kyne, founder and CEO of KYNE. “As our industry continues its rapid rate of change, it is imperative that we look to technology partners like Medit and great talent like Julie to stay at the forefront of innovation in healthcare communications. Our investment in Medit is reflective of our continued focus on digital and the rapid growth KYNE has experienced in recent years. Combining Medit’s innovative technology, which supports medical education, with KYNE’s strategic communications efforts, will further strengthen the solutions we offer to our clients.”

Prior to founding Medit, O’Donnell led digital and social marketing integration at Lundbeck across all aspects of the business to deepen relationships and maximize results. She has experience in engaging healthcare stakeholders across therapeutic areas with deep expertise in psychiatry, neurology and diabetes, among others. Throughout her work, O’Donnell has always believed in the power of digital channels to change lives, and is inspired by combining business strategy, digital marketing and technology to maximize engagement.

“Having worked directly with the team, I can say that KYNE’s passion to create positive change in healthcare through innovative partnerships really fits with our mission at Medit,” said O’Donnell. “We believe bringing the medical community together and supporting peer-to-peer learning and collaboration can be transformative in health and medicine. At the core of that experience is great content and that’s something KYNE has substantial heritage in. KYNE’s unique perspective and network will really contribute to the success of Medit’s global launch and no doubt, together we’ll have an impact in improving content discovery and sharing in healthcare.”
